SENATE MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 23, 1991
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. Vice-President Ben Calhoun
II. Open Forum
11. Roll Call
Senators absent,excused were: Marsh, McManus, Anderson, Von
Kutzleben and Lappe. Unexcused were Tiggler, Bowyer and Whaley.
Several; senators had to leave early.
There were not enough senators present to form a quorum.
IV. Reading of Minutes
It was decided to dispense with reading the minutes of the previous
meeting.
V. Committee Meetings
Meetings of the academic affairs, internal affairs and student life
committees were held.
VII. Committee Reports
1. The proposal regarding Dead days is still in committee of
the University Council.
1. We have received two applications for the vacant senior
senator position.
2. Ashley Disque is now in cahrge of General Committee
Members. GCM's will serve as communication liaisons.
1. A letter is being writte for SGA approval concerning the
abolishment of a PE requirement.
2. People are being urged to tie yellow ribbons around trees
in support of our troops.
3. Stacey Hill presented a proposal concerning bike paths.

1. 18 letters were sent out to senators regarding absences.
